Answer

You cannot get pregnant from oral sex. However, if you are not
using a latex condom or a dental dam when performing or receiving oral sex
you are at risk for contracting a sexually transmitted infection. Sexually
transmitted infections can be transmitted by oral, vaginal, and anal sex.
Additionally, some sexually transmitted infections, like genital herpes or
genital warts can be contracted through skin-to-skin contact. If you are
going to engage in oral sex, I would strongly suggest that your partner wear
a latex condom and I would encourage you both to be tested for sexually
transmitted infections. Confidential sti testing can be done at the
Whitfield County Health Department Medical Access Clinic, 706-226-5446.
